17.01.2022

Bursa, one of the leading cities of Turkey in the textile industry, hosted another important organization that will strengthen the foreign trade volume in the industry. Bursa Textile Show, which brought together Turkish textile manufacturers and buyers from all over the world, hosted its visitors for the 9th time. At the Fair, which was held for the first time this year at the Bursa International Fair and Congress Center, nearly 200 companies presented their 2024 spring-summer apparel fabric collections to the taste of industry professionals.

Within the scope of the procurement delegations coordinated by BSTO (Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and UTİB (Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association) partnership and the works of KFA Fuarcılık, over 1,000 qualified foreign buyers from 70 countries, mainly from European and Middle Eastern countries, held business meetings with companies. The fair, which was held in 4 halls and a total area of 10 thousand squaremeters, also provided exhibitors the opportunity to discover the latest innovations in the industry through seminars held together with trend areas. A total of 8 thousand domestic and foreign business professionals visited the fair, where the heart of the industry beats, for 3 days.

BSTO Board Chairman İbrahim Burkay said that they left behind another fair organization in 2023 within the scope of their works for the export-oriented growth of the Bursa business world. Burkay stated that they hosted industry professionals from different geographies of the world in Bursa at the Bursa Textile Show as well after the Junioshow Fair, which was visited by buyers from nearly 80 countries in January, and said that they brought together procurement delegations consisting of important players of the industry from the USA to Japan, from India to Spain, from Russia to Jordan with representatives of the business world at the fair. İbrahim Burkay said “We have completed the ninth Bursa Textile Show with the strong cooperation of stakeholders and the devoted approach of our textile industry representatives. Our Bursa is an important center in the international arena with its quality production and design in the textile and fabric industry. We want to strengthen our city’s competitiveness in the industry. The fair also has a different meaning for us this year. As a country, we experienced two major earthquake disasters centered in Kahramanmaraş in February. We will use the income of our fair, which we organized with the consciousness of cooperation and solidarity, to meet the needs in the earthquake region. At this juncture, I would like to thank all our companies for their support and generosity during this difficult process.”

UTİB Chairman Pınar Taşdelen Engin stated that international fairs have a great impact on Turkish textiles being in a leading position in world trends andsaid “The Bursa Textile Show, which we held for the 9th time in Bursa, where all stages of the supply chain take place, also contributed to the strengthening of the export momentum of the industry in this sense. On the other hand, in our event ‘TurkishTextile Network (TTN) NatureverseReflect Vol.2’ held within the scope of the fair, we presented the clothes produced entirely by TTN member companies at every stage, from yarn to fabric, from design to finished product, to the taste of qualified domestic and foreign buyers. It is also gratifying that this point is the center of attention. The B2B meetings held by cluster member companies with foreign purchasing delegations within the scope of the Ecological Textiles ICD (International Competitiveness Development) Project also resulted in important cooperations and opened doors to new markets. Bursa Textile Show, where industry representatives and foreign business professionals came together, has become an organization above national standards. It is also very important that the income obtained here is transferred to the region during a period when we are recovering the wounds of the earthquake. We increased our motivation by showing that Turkish textile, ready-made clothing and apparel are really strong while going through a difficult period as a country.” BursaTextile Show September will be held on September 5-7, 2023.

BSTO (Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Vice Board Chairman İsmail Kuş said that fair organizations contribute not only to the export targets of companies but also to the city's commercial life. İsmail Kuş emphasized that Bursa Textile Show, which hosts its visitors with its new concept in its new location this year, will open its doors for the second time between September 5-7, 2023 and said that “Bursa Textile Show, one of the most important meetings of the textile industry in Turkey, is growing every passing period. Our aim is to ensure that our industry demonstrates its experience in value-added production in export markets. We will continue our work in this direction,”.
