Heart of Textile Beats in Bursa with Bursa Textile Show

18.01.2022

Bursa Textile Show, which was organized under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BSTO) in order to strengthen the export of the textile industry, opened its doors for the 8th time. At the fair where the heart of the industry beats, nearly 500 business people from 40 countries held bilateral business meetings with Bursa companies for 3 days.

Bursa Textile Show brought together industry representatives and foreign business professionals for the 8th time. At the fair, which was organized by KFA Fuarcılık with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, 133 companies presented their 2023-2024 fall-winter fabric and accessory collections to the taste of the visitors. More than 500 foreign buyers from over 40 countries attended the fair, which was held in Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center. Also, foreign business professionals carried out bilateral business meetings with the exhibitor companies through Bsto's Commercial Safari Project and two separate International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) Projects conducted for the textile industry and in cooperation with UTİB (Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association). The opening cocktail of the Bursa Textile Show, which has become one of the brand fairs of the industry, was also held with the participation of the city protocol. In his speech, BSTO Board Chairman İbrahim Burkay said that being BSTO, they are carrying out important projects in terms of opening up companies to the world. Burkay, who stated that the fair activities carried out as a chamber are one of the export-oriented projects, said “We are organizing the Bursa Textile Show for the 8th time. Our fair undertakes an important mission to strengthen Bursa’s position as a production and export center. We are making an important cooperation together with UTİB in order to continue the power of Bursa and Turkish textile in the world market. Bursa Textile Show has become one of the few fairs in its field. Bursa is strengthening its position as a center where trends and fashion are determined every passing day. This is very valuable and important.” Yakup Canbolat, Governor of Bursa, stated that Bursa Textile Show has strengthened the export of the industry and said “An exciting fair was held. We saw here how high quality and branded products our Bursa business people produce and how they appeal to the world market. As our BSTO hairman İbrahim Burkay said, Bursa Textile Show, which is a brand for Bursa, is moving to a new area with demand. It is a wise decision for it to move to the fair center of BURTEX. I wish the organization to be an opportunity for new business connections for companies. I would like to thank BSTO, UTİB and our fair committee for the organization.”

UTİB Chairman Pınar Taşdelen Engin said “It is really good news that the forthcoming Bursa Textile Show will be held at the International Fair Center. This fair was designed with a good strategy. In fact, the aim is not to hold a fair for the sake of the fair, but to hold a fair for the companies. So, I find it very valuable to start from here. It was a fair where the buyers, that the companies here need, came. We have a textile history that is coded into our DNA and in our culture, specifically for Bursa. The textile industry is so well positioned in Bursa that we are in a city where all stages of the supply chain are produced. Turkish textile industry is such an incredibly fast-deciding, fast-acting industry. I hope our fair will be good for our industry.”
